Diodes Incorporated (Diodes) (Nasdaq: DIOD ) announces the DIODES ZXMS81045SPQ, its first self-shielding, automotive-qualified high-side IntelliFET™ product. This small size device provides high power supply with protection and diagnostic functions and is suitable for driving 12V automotive loads such as LEDs, bulbs, actuators and motors in automotive body control and lighting systems.

The ZXMS81045SPQ features an N-type field-effect transistor (FET) rated at 41V, and its on-board circuitry provides short-circuit protection, handles inrush currents, and protects against overvoltage conditions such as load dumps. The ZXMS81045SPQ also features thermal protection with auto-restart and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection. With some external components, ground fault and reverse polarity protection is also provided.

A dedicated current sense (IS) pin accurately monitors the analog current output and provides fault indication for short-to-battery, short-to-ground, and open-load detection.

The ZXMS81045SPQ provides an efficient, reliable, and small-size alternative to relays, fuses, and discrete circuits. If customers need to improve product offerings, this product can also compare to existing power switch devices in terms of form, fit and function.

The ZXMS81045SPQ is AEC-Q100 qualified, PPAP approved, and manufactured in an IATF 16949 certified facility. This product is supplied in an SO-8EP package.
